This was exactly what the British were looking for during World War II, and they made large numbers of Sten guns which found their way to every part of the British empire, including Hong Kong. It was far less costly and quicker to produce than the previous models such as the Lanchester. The Sten MK II is a very simple and straightforward machine gun made mostly of metal stampings. Also included is a Sten MK V parts kit (less magazine, and receiver tube pieces) which includes wooden buttstock, pistol grip, and vertical foregrip, barrel, both mainsprings, mag housing and trigger group assembly. Also included is an original tan web sling. Both the Sten and Austen utilize the same magazines. This gun comes with one original magazine and an original Austen (Australian) magazine loader. Underside of magazine housing exhibits Long Branch markings and top side of housing Chinese markings. Very fine example of a Long Branch manufactured World War II British Sten MK II machine gun on a York Arms registered receiver tube.
